Thank You International Medical Corps Bloggers Part II

First off, if you haven't voted yet, please vote. Secondly, as recently as Wednesday, September 24th, 2008, I posted a thank you for blogging about International Medical Corps as a thank you for all of the bloggers who were so generous as to blog about the current voting contest going on -- 73 earned media posts -- called the Members Project. International Medical Corps is being represented by the Member Project called Saving the Lives of Malnourished Children. Well, three days later, we have been lavished with another 30 earned media mentions, listed below:

Anyway, bloggers and everyone else who has supported, thank you very much from both the IMC and AHLLC!

If you want more information, please check out the informational page we made for the project -- the SMNR -- and you can learn a lot more and see all the various and sundry assets the organization has provided for this noble campaign.

Finally, please let me know if I missed your post in the Chris Abraham comment area — and if you want to post about the contest and the issue, please feel free and pop the URL into the Chris Abraham comment section and I will add you and thanks in advance!

Did John McCain actually *NOT* shake Barack Obama's hand just now? Really? Really?
I am super impressed by John McCain's single-mindedness on the talking points: he sticks to them like White on McCain. Then, repeat, repeat, repeat. That strategy actually always works, alas.
John McCain is whistling and not looking at Obama because he's fighting his hot temper! "Serenity *whistle* Now!"
Why won't John McCain look at Barack Obama at all? Why does he refuse to speak to or speak towards the man?

International Medical Corps Matched With Top 25 American Express Members Project, “Saving the Lives of Malnourished Children”
NEWS FACTS

International Medical Corps has been matched to one of the Top 25 in American Express’ Members Projects, ‘Saving the Lives of Malnourished Children.’

Chosen out of 1,190 projects, “Saving the Lives of Malnourished Children” is now eligible to receive up to $1.5 million in funding. The project with the most votes receives $1.5 million, 2nd receives $500,000, 3rd $300,000, and 4th and 5th $100,000. The funding – made possible by your votes – would bring a vital lifeline to hungry and malnourished children around the world.

We need your help between now and September 29th. Voting is easy and doesn’t cost a thing! In just a click, you can save the lives of thousands of malnourished children. Click here to vote:

For severely malnourished children, we offer a step-by-step treatment program that gives them what they need to recover, including nutrient-dense food supplements like the peanut-based product, Plumpy'Nut. Our comprehensive monitoring system saves more than 90 percent of children being treated in our feeding centers. Being one of the Top 5 would mean our nutrition could reach more children around the world who need our help.

Hunger and malnutrition kill more people in the world than HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. As food prices rise, this funding is even more critical. More people are being driven deeper into poverty trying to afford basic staples. Many have nothing to eat at all. Your vote makes it possible for fewer young lives to be lost because they do not have enough to eat.

Getting the word out to your friends and family makes a huge difference! Forward this link to a friend and you bring us that much closer to the $1.5 million to help malnourished children around the world!

About International Medical Corps

International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, IMC is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.
By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, IMC rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

Help International Medical Corps

Double your impact. Donate today. Your gift is matched before October 31st.

International Medical Corps has received a pledge of $100,000 in matching funds to provide vital health care to millions of children and families suffering in the global food crisis and other emergencies around the world. Every donation made before October 31st will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. That means that we can double every dollar you provide, multiplying your gift and reaching more children and families who so desperately need our help.

Did you know that hunger and malnutrition kill more people than HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined? As food prices soar, billions of people around the world are more vulnerable to malnutrition and severe food insecurity. Malnutrition often puts children at risk for malaria, diarrhea and respiratory infections – creating a vicious cycle. We see the impact of this emergency at our feeding sites and clinics everyday. By making a donation, you provide a lifeline for children and families who desperately need our help.

Traffic is so bad coming in to Philly I am still at 10.3 miles out: I 676 / US 30 :(
Stuck in traffic 12.9 miles outside Philly on I676/US30
When it comes to the gentrifying of cool neighborhoods: blame the people who sell and not the people who buy.
When it comes to cool neighborhoods: if you don't own itan you can't keep it. Artists and residents need to buy if you want to maintain your identity.
100 miles to PodCamp Philly. What is the hash tag for PodCampPhilly? What is the Twitter account to follow? Who's coming?
I am bummed that I will not be able to probably make the friday night festivities for PodCamp Philly :(
I am a A Syphalitic Trucker on the Social Networks http://ping.fm/j9OHX

I am "parked" at a Starbucks 200 miles outside Philly in Somerset, PA, because my CEO demands a full work day. Slavemaster! :)

News from Abigail Jones, "Exciting news: my book RESTLESS VIRGINS came out in paperback yesterday! You can pick it up at your local bookstore or order it on Amazon. And go to http://ping.fm/ZOnck for details on publicity, appearances, and more. Thanks for the support, and please pass along this email to your friends!"

I can't believe it: I slammed my middle right finger in my trunk! Ouch!
Just saw a Galaxy airplane circling. The USAF transport. It is so huge and so gray that it appears to move as slowly as a an airship. Cool and bizarre.
I think I will drive to Cincinnati, maybe, if you Cincy guys have some time for a Tweetup. Where can I get some real Cincy chili?
OK, I have passed into Ohio, officially, going East on Route 70.

52 miles outside Dayton on Rt 70 heading East
OK, I am finally super-tired of driving. I think I got all of this out of my bloody system! :)

Listening to Adam Curry's DSC about "media as completely commanding and controlling our lives every single day." What do you think?
@DeanLand I drove from Arlington, VA, to Aspen, CO, via Rt. 70 and now I am headed to Podcamp Philly to speak. So, just driving through KS!
@huperniketes Gardening is antithetical to the Natural Order of things. It is about persuasion and grooming and pruning and ... gardening!
@semjaza I quote Chance, Chauncey Gardener, about gardens in almost every meeting and sales call. :)
@afhill I just heard the writer interviewed the writer on CBC's Tapestry. Great guy and great philosophy.
@semjaza "Being There" is my #1 movie. Peter Sellers is my #1 actor. Chauncey Gardener is my #1 role model. Amazing!
I am so so sad that PRI's "Fair Game" with Faith Salie is cancelled. Listening to old episodes. So so sad.
I want to read _The Happiness Hypothesis_ by Jonathan Heit (sp?)
Kansas is, indeed, flat. Route 70 East is, indeed, long: all the way across America. Route 70 is the new Route 66.
I am still trying to document my trip on Flickr: http://ping.fm/aSn1f
My friend Abigail's book, RESTLESS VIRGINS, came out in paperback yesterday! http://ping.fm/ZOnck
